We check the tiles and mortar before advising you. Moss can be removed, but cleaning will not fix a cracked tile, loose lead or worn lining. If we find damage, we explain what needs repairing and whether it should be done before cleaning. If your roof does not need cleaning, we tell you and there is no charge for the quote.
The size of the roof, the amount of moss and how we can reach it all affect the price. We also check the condition of the tiles so we can explain how the cleaning will be done. Your free written quote lists the work and costs, including the gutter clearing agreed for your roof.
Yes. We remove moss and loose material from the gutters as part of the roof clean, then flush them to check the water runs through. We also check for blockages around the downpipe openings. If we find a cracked gutter or a loose joint, we show you and explain any repair needed separately from the cleaning.
Removing moss can make the roof look much cleaner, but tiles can still show their age and some staining may remain. We explain what you can expect after looking at your roof. We remove the moss by hand, and we will tell you if the condition of any tiles or mortar needs attention before that work begins.
